Diamond Care and Maintenance
True diamond is an excellent gem for daily jewelry as it is the most durable gemstone; however, it requires some maintenance. Read our tips below to maintain its brilliance and safety.
Diamond care advice
- Even though diamonds are not sensitive to household chemicals, the precious metal around them is sensitive and can be harmed. So avoid wearing your diamond jewellery when in contact with acid or bleach.
- Always wear your jewellery as the last step to avoid contact with perfume, spray, and makeup that can make the stone look dull.
- when storing or traveling, separate your diamond jewelry into individual cloth bags or boxes to protect them from rubbing against each other or scratching other softer gemstones.
Cleaning your diamond at home
- Mix a mild liquid soap and warm water in a bowl in a safe area to prevent item loss.
- Soak the jewellery in water for 20 minutes.
- Brush gently with a soft toothbrush to remove the dirt around the stone, the sides, the edges of the jewellery, underneath the stone, and the mounting.
- Rinse it with clean water.
- Use a soft, lint free cloth to dry it.
